An ATM is a bank machine or automated teller machine
- including machines that dispense cash only or full function devices
where you can withdraw cash, transfer funds, obtain balances or
deposit.
A
Point of Sale (POS) device is where you use your
Member Card (debit card) at a merchant to pay for purchases electronically
(such as groceries or clothing). Some merchants offer cash-back
options.

Helpful tips to successfully deposit cheques to your account at
an ATM
(please! do not deposit coin)
- Ensure that YOU are the payee
- not the Credit Union, not CASH, not a third party
- Ensure that the body and figures agree
- Ensure the cheque is payable in Canadian funds
- Ensure that it is dated properly - not more
than six months before the date of deposit and not post-dated
(dated in the future)
- Ensure the cheque is drawn on a Canadian financial
institution
- If there are changes, ensure each one has been
initialled by the Drawer
(the person writing the cheque)
Important Note:
ATM deposits are subject
to "Holds" - these funds are not available until the deposit
is verified.
